Overheard At Our House

Girlie: "Mom, did you know that there are BUG GUTS in lipstick?  So when you kiss, if it's a wet one, your lipstick comes off."

Me: "Uh.... a wet WHAT?"

Girlie: "If your lipstick is still wet when you kiss.  Then your lipstick will come off.  Right?"

Me: "Oh.  Oh, yes.  Yes. Oh thank God.  That is correct. If your lipstick is wet...yes.  It will come off.  Don't kiss anyone anytime soon, okay?"

~
Boyo and KK running by me - both with swords.  Boyo to his sister: "Do you have the bombs?"

~
Boyo: "I have allergies.  The allergies are in my eyes and making my eyes move and not see."

~
KK running up to me after realizing that her father and I are trading off in who is putting her back to bed as she gets up 50 times a night: "It's your turn now!"

Stomping in Muddy Puddles

Now that we have a house with a backyard (I get giddy saying that!), we play outside ALOT.  In water, sand, and mud.

BabyBug wanted to be like the big kids, but she was a little concerned...

Hmmm...squishy.

Mommy, you aren't mad?

Then CHEESE! This is fun!

Where have I been?

I know... I haven't blogged since Easter.

Why?

My life took a very busy and unexpected turn.

We moved.

Yes, you read that right.  We moved.

A mile from where we lived.  Two blocks from the elementary school.

The new place has 4 bedrooms and a HUGE backyard.

So we can play in the sprinklers.

And slide on our new slip n slide.

And play softball.  And soccer.  And football.
But still... this happened very, very fast.

Faster than we were expecting when we started looking for a place to move too.

And the move itself... well, we thought we would move on May 17th... yet, we are all moved into the new place by Mother's Day.

How?

By my making 3 trips a day for the past 2 weeks.

And my husband and I moving 2 refrigerators in the back of my minivan.

And my sisters watching 7 kids so we could.

And a friend volunteering to help move all the furniture I couldn't lift.

And I ran the Color Run (okay, I mostly walked quickly).

And worked full time.

And taught a college class.

And my husband worked full time.

And he coached T-Ball.

And he ran the SAT at his school.

And we raised 4 kids.

And we celebrated Mother's Day.

Oh, and did I mention that all of us got the flu?  EVERY. SINGLE. ONE.

So I'm exhausted.  And I still have to unpack.  But this.... this makes it worth it:

But I'm still tired.
